Your age

Educational tool — not a diagnosis. Risk-factor screener informed by 2024 ACC/AHA cardiovascular prevention guidelines and QRISK3. Not a substitute for the validated risk equations, which require lipid and BP values.

Frequently asked

Plain-language answers about cardio risk, this screener, and what evaluation costs at a Class A hospital in China.

Why isn't this the official ASCVD calculator?
Validated equations like ASCVD and QRISK3 require specific lab values (total cholesterol, HDL, systolic BP) that most people don't have memorised. This is a triage screener — its job is to tell you whether the formal workup is worth doing.
What's a comprehensive cardiac workup?
Lipid panel, fasting glucose / HbA1c, BP measurement, ECG, and (for elevated-risk patients) coronary calcium score or stress imaging. At a Class A international department in China, the basic workup is $140–220 and adding coronary calcium is $200–340.
Should I get a coronary calcium scan?
Useful for adults 40–75 at intermediate calculated risk where the lipid-lowering decision is uncertain. A score of 0 has very high negative predictive value; ≥100 typically prompts statin initiation regardless of lipids.
