How we write and check medical content

Patients make serious decisions with what they read here. These are the rules our medical pages follow.

Primary sources first

Clinical figures (response rates, survival, side-effect rates, prevalence) come from primary sources: peer-reviewed studies indexed in PubMed, full-text articles, clinical practice guidelines, drug and device labels, and regulators' announcements. Every figure on our evidence pages traces to a reference listed on that page, usually with a direct PubMed link.

Before publishing, we check figures against the source itself, not against summaries, press coverage or promotional material. When a source document contained an error, we have corrected or removed the figure rather than repeating it.

Evidence graded honestly

We say what kind of evidence supports each statement: a randomised trial, a retrospective study, a conference abstract, expert consensus or a guideline recommendation. Off-label and investigational uses are labelled as such. We say when guidelines do not recommend something, including treatments that are popular in China.

What we won't publish

Figures we could not verify are left out. We don't publish prices without a source. Where treatment costs depend on the case, we say so and provide an itemised quote after review. We don't use manufacturers' promotional imagery.

Regulatory facts

Approval status in China (NMPA) and elsewhere is taken from the regulator, or from the manufacturer's official release with that source named. Status can change, so pages give the date the information was checked and advise confirming with the treating doctor.

Review and updates

Our editorial team reviews medical pages and re-checks them when guidelines or approvals change. Pages show when they were published and last updated.

Not medical advice

Our content is general education to help you prepare questions for your doctors. It does not replace a consultation. Treatment decisions are made by the treating physician after reviewing your records.

Corrections

If you think something on our site is wrong or out of date, email support@pandatouring.com with the page and the source. We review every report and correct errors promptly.
