- Can foreign patients access IVF in China?
- Yes — international patients can access IVF at NHC-designated reproductive centres with a valid marriage certificate and passport. Documentation requirements differ from many Western systems: most Chinese NHC-licensed reproductive centres require proof of marriage for IVF (single women face restrictions on IVF and egg freezing per current NHC regulation). Same-sex couples and surrogacy are not legally available. We confirm eligibility and documentation before quoting.
- Egg freezing: who is eligible?
- Per current NHC regulation, oocyte cryopreservation in China is restricted to (1) women with a medical indication (e.g., before gonadotoxic therapy) or (2) married women within a clinical IVF cycle. Elective social egg freezing for single women is not generally available at NHC-licensed mainland centres as of 2026 — Hong Kong is a partial workaround for some indications. We will tell you clearly if your situation does not fit current regulation.
- What does an IVF cycle cost?
- Indicative all-in international-patient pricing per cycle: standard IVF $3,500–5,500; IVF with ICSI $4,500–6,500; IVF with PGT-A (4–6 embryos) $6,500–9,500. Includes pre-cycle workup, ovulation induction medications, oocyte retrieval, laboratory fertilisation, embryo culture and transfer, and bilingual report. Excludes long-term embryo storage (typically $200–400/year).
- How does the laboratory standard compare?
- Top Chinese centres run high-volume embryology labs with time-lapse imaging, vitrification, and ICSI as standard. PGT-A uses NGS-based platforms equivalent to Western providers. Live-birth rates per transfer at top centres are within published international benchmarks for matched age and indication. Centre selection matters — we route based on your age, prior history, and any genetic indications.
