“FUE hair transplant at Shanghai Ninth — 3,200 grafts, two senior surgeons working in parallel. Result at month 9 looks natural. Hospital-based, not a chain — that was the deciding factor for me.”

FAQ
Dermatology & Aesthetic in China — answered.
- Hospital dermatology vs commercial aesthetic chains?
- Hospital-based dermatology and plastic-surgery departments at Class A centres are run by board-certified specialists with full medical and surgical scope (autoimmune skin disease, severe acne, vitiligo, oncologic reconstruction). They use the same laser and injectable platforms as commercial chains but with hospital-grade infection control and supervisory accountability. We do not work with commercial high-volume aesthetic chains.
- Vitiligo: what is realistic?
- Vitiligo treatment at top medical-dermatology centres includes 308nm excimer laser, narrow-band UVB, topical calcineurin inhibitors / corticosteroids, and surgical micro-grafting (suction blister, mini-punch grafting) for stable disease. Expectations: response is gradual (months) and partial in most cases. China’s NHC reference centres run high-volume vitiligo programmes — the volume itself is the strength, not a unique therapy.
- Hair transplant: technique and pricing?
- FUE (follicular unit extraction) is standard. Robotic FUE (ARTAS) and manual FUE are both available. Indicative all-in pricing: $2,500–4,500 for 2,000–3,000 grafts; $4,500–8,500 for 4,000–5,000 grafts. Includes pre-op consult, surgical day, post-op kit and 12-month remote follow-up. Comparable US private-payer: $8,000–18,000.
